Provisional Terms of Use for the websites and related services operated by BSI.

About These Terms

These Terms of Use apply to the websites operated by BSI and to the related services intended for machine-based access, including access by AI agents and similar systems.

"Related services" include APIs, MCP servers, search-assistance functions, query-generation functions, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), local LLMs, skills, and other comparable machine-processing support functions.

DDBJ, DBCLS, and other associated sites and services are governed by their own respective policies, terms of use, guidelines, and service-specific conditions of use.

External sites, services, and databases linked from this site are governed by the policies, terms of use, licenses, and conditions of use of those linked destinations.

In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms of Use and the terms or conditions of an individual service, the terms or conditions of that individual service shall prevail.

Handling of Personal Information and Logs

For the purposes of operation, understanding usage, improving services, responding to incidents, and ensuring security, this site and its related services may collect and store the following information:

  • Search terms entered within the site

The collected information is not used for the purpose of identifying individuals. It is used for service operation, service improvement, incident investigation, security response, and statistical analysis.
